Welcome to April Rain Dance Academy! To ensure that all students have a positive, safe, and productive learning experience at our school, please adhere to the following policies. Thank you for your cooperation and support!

1. Registration and Fees

1.1 Registration Fee

  • Amount: The annual registration fee is $55. This fee covers administrative and insurance costs and is non-refundable. The registration fee of $55 is due every August and covers the academic year from August to May of the following year. Students who join mid-year are also required to pay the full annual registration fee; no reduction will be applied.

1.2 Uniform Fee

  • Amount: A $50 uniform fee is required for each course that has a performance. Any additional costs will be charged separately.

1.3 Recital Fee

  • Amount: The recital fee is $50, and all students are required to pay this fee, regardless of participation.

1.4 Refund Policy

  • Course Fees: Course fees are non-refundable except in special circumstances.

  • Absences: Fees incurred due to absences are non-refundable.

1.5 Competition Class Withdrawal Penalty

  • Withdrawal Penalty: To maintain the stability of competition classes, students enrolled in competition classes cannot withdraw mid-term. If a student withdraws from a competition class during the term, a $200 withdrawal penalty will be charged. This policy aims to ensure the overall stability of the class and team cohesion.

1.6 Automatic Payment

  • Discount: Students who opt for automatic payment will receive a 10% discount on tuition.

  • Cancellation: Students who wish to cancel automatic payment must provide written notice to the school at least two months in advance. Cancellation of automatic payment registration will only be effective after two months. If a competition class registration is canceled, the $200 withdrawal penalty will still apply. If you need to cancel automatic payment for a certain month due to an absence, moving, or other reasons, the difference from previous months’ automatic payment discounts must be repaid. The automatic payment discount applies to continuous study for a full term; mid-term cancellations will be charged at the non-automatic payment rate.

1.7 Late Payment

  • Fee: A $10 late fee will be charged if tuition is not paid by the 7th of each month.

2. Class Schedule and Adjustments

2.1 Class Schedule

  • Schedule: The school will provide the class schedule in advance. Parents and students should be aware of any changes.

  • Class Adjustments: The school reserves the right to adjust class schedules due to teacher absences, holidays, or other unforeseen circumstances.

2.2 Holiday and Breaks

  • Holidays: The school will close during major holidays (e.g., Christmas, Spring Festival), and classes will be suspended. Parents and students will be notified in advance.

  • Emergency Closures: In the event of emergencies (e.g., weather events), the school will notify parents and students through phone, email, or announcements.

3. Absence Policy

3.1 Advance Notice

  • Requirement: Absence requests must be submitted at least 72 hours in advance. In emergencies, please notify the school as soon as possible.

  • Notification Method:

    • Email: Please send to yasdancestudio@gmail.com

    • Written Notice: Please submit a completed Absence Request Form to the school.

3.2 Makeup Classes

  • Opportunity: Students may make up missed classes by attending other classes of the same level. Makeup classes must be completed within 2 months of the absence.

  • Arrangement: Makeup classes must be coordinated with the school. Specific arrangements depend on teacher and class availability. If no suitable classes are available, makeup classes cannot be arranged.

  • Fee: Makeup classes incur no additional fees but must be completed within 2 months and a written request must be submitted 72 hours in advance; otherwise, the makeup opportunity will be forfeited.

  • Limit: Each student may make up a maximum of three classes per absence. For instance, if a student misses four classes, a maximum of three classes may be made up. Makeup classes for absences exceeding three classes will not be arranged.

3.3 Long-Term Absences

  • Definition: Long-term absences refer to absences lasting more than two weeks.

  • Procedure: If a long-term absence is required, please discuss it with school management and provide the reason for the absence and the expected return date. In such cases, make-up classes will still be limited to a maximum of three sessions, which must be completed within two months of the absence. Multiple absence request forms for the same extended period will not be accepted.

3.4 Medical Absences

  • Required Documentation: For medical absences, please provide a doctor’s note or medical report. Unless it is a major illness requiring a long-term absence, all medical absences must follow the regular absence policy, and same-day notifications will not be accepted.

  • Make-up Classes: Medical absences are limited to a maximum of three make-up classes, which must be completed within two months of the absence. Multiple absence request forms for the same medical period will not be accepted.

  • Return Notification: Once the medical condition improves, please inform the school to ensure a safe return to classes. If a long-term absence is needed due to a major illness, further arrangements can be discussed with the school management.

3.5 Special Circumstances

  • Special Circumstances: For family emergencies, important events, or other special circumstances, please communicate directly with the school for flexible handling of the absence request.

4. Private Classes

4.1 Class Information

  • Overview: Private classes are designed to meet individual student needs, providing a tailored learning experience. These classes may focus on dance techniques, choreography, or fitness training.

  • Scheduling: Students or parents should contact the school office or designated private teacher to schedule private classes. Provide details about class content, timing, and special requirements.

4.2 Fees

  • Fee Structure: Fees for private classes vary based on teacher experience, class length, and content. Specific fees will be provided at the time of scheduling.

  • Registration Fee: A $55 registration fee is required when booking private classes. This fee applies only to private classes. It is collected at the time of booking.

  • Payment: Fees must be paid in advance each month, by the first week of the month.

  • Payment Method: Confirm payment details during the booking process.

4.3 Commitment and Cancellation

  • Commitment: Students must commit to attending private classes for the entire semester to ensure continuity and effective planning.

  • Cancellation Policy: To cancel or reschedule a private class, notify the school at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so will result in a 50% cancellation fee of the class fee. If canceled or rescheduled with at least 2 days' written notice, no additional fee will be charged, and rescheduling will incur no extra cost.

  • Makeup Arrangements: If a class is canceled due to teacher or school reasons, a makeup class or partial refund will be arranged.

4.4 Choreography

  • Choreography Fees: If students wish to include original choreography in their private classes, additional choreography fees will apply. These fees depend on the complexity and length of the choreography.

  • Fee Details: Specific choreography fees will be discussed and determined during the booking process and are in addition to regular private class fees.

4.5 Class Content and Goals

  • Customized Content: Private class content will be tailored to the student’s individual needs and goals. Parents and students can discuss learning objectives with the teacher before the class begins.

  • Progress Tracking: Teachers will regularly update parents on the student’s progress and achievements to ensure the class meets the student’s needs.

4.6 Class Records and Feedback

  • Records: Each private class will be recorded by the teacher, including class content and student progress. These records aid in planning future classes.

  • Feedback: Students and parents are encouraged to provide feedback on the classes to help improve teaching content and methods.

4.7 Class Requirements

  • Punctuality: Students must arrive on time for classes. If late by more than 15 minutes, the class will end as scheduled, and unused time will not be refunded.

  • Preparation: Students should prepare any required equipment or attire as per the teacher’s instructions to ensure the class proceeds smoothly.

4.8 Class Records and Evaluation

  • Progress Records: Teachers will maintain records of each private class, tracking student progress and feedback.

  • Class Evaluation: At the end of the semester, the school will evaluate private classes to ensure teaching quality and student satisfaction.

5. Discipline and Behavior

5.1 Behavior Standards

  • Punctuality: Students must arrive on time for classes. If late by more than 15 minutes, they must inform the teacher.

  • Respect: Students should show respect to teachers, classmates, and school facilities. Any form of bullying or disrespectful behavior will be addressed seriously and may result in removal from the class.

5.2 Disciplinary Actions

  • Warnings: Minor infractions will result in a verbal warning.

  • Disciplinary Measures: Repeated or severe violations may lead to temporary or permanent expulsion. Disciplinary decisions will be made by school management and communicated to parents/legal guardians.

6. Health and Safety

6.1 Health Requirements

  • Health Check: Students must complete a health check before enrollment to ensure they are fit to participate in dance activities. Any health issues not disclosed before enrollment are the student’s responsibility.

  • Allergy Information: Students must provide information about allergies or other health conditions during registration to enable the school to take necessary precautions.

6.2 Emergency Procedures

  • Emergency Contacts: Provide valid emergency contact information.

  • Medical Authorization: Parents/legal guardians authorize school staff to make necessary medical decisions in case of emergencies.

6.3 Accident Handling

  • Reporting: Any accidents or injuries must be reported immediately to the teacher and school management.

  • Record Keeping: The school will document all accidents and handle them according to established procedures.

7. Personal Belongings

7.1 Personal Belongings Management

  • Responsibility: The school is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items. Students should ensure their belongings are secure and avoid bringing valuables.

7.2 Item Labeling

  • Labeling: All personal items should be labeled with the student's name for identification and retrieval.

8. Class Performances and Recitals

8.1 Competition Classes

  • Requirement: Students in competition classes must participate in at least one dance competition each year. Specific competition details will be provided in advance.

  • Registration Fee: The competition registration fee will be organized and collected by the school. Specific fees will be communicated to parents and students before the competition.

8.2 Regular Classes

  • Performances: Students in regular classes must participate in at least one school recital per year. Participation is considered part of the course, and all students are required to participate unless there are special circumstances.

  • Recital Fee: All students are required to pay the recital fee, even if they are unable to participate due to personal reasons. The recital fee is non-refundable. Students in Fitness Training classes are exempt from paying the recital fee.

  • Exempt Courses: Courses such as Flexibility, Acrobatic, and PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) do not include recitals.

9. Parent Involvement and Volunteering

9.1 Volunteering

  • Parent Volunteers: One parent per class is welcome to volunteer as an assistant, helping with organization and recording. Parents must complete a class volunteer application form to apply.

  • Class Parent Committee: Parents interested in becoming class parent committee leads must fill out a volunteer form. The class parent committee is responsible for coordinating parent involvement, organizing events, and providing feedback.

9.2 Volunteer Forms

  • Class Parent Committee Lead Application: Parents wishing to serve as class parent committee leads must complete a volunteer form to apply for the position.

  • Class Volunteer Application Form: Parents interested in assisting in class must complete the class volunteer application form to apply.

10. Facility Use

10.1 Facility Regulations

  • Usage Guidelines: Students must adhere to the facility usage guidelines, keep the area clean after use, and return items to their proper place.

  • Damage Compensation: Any damage caused by students or parents will require compensation.

10.2 Safety Regulations

  • Safety Checks: The school will conduct regular safety checks of the facilities. Students should use facilities safely to avoid accidents.

11. Off-Site Activities

11.1 Safety Measures

  • Accompaniment Requirement: All off-site activities require parental accompaniment to ensure student safety. Students who are not accompanied by a parent will not be allowed to participate in off-site activities.

  • Activity Notification: Details of off-site activities, including specific arrangements and fees, will be communicated to parents and students in advance.

12. Class Adjustments and Cancellations

12.1 Adjustment Policy

  • Class Adjustments: The school reserves the right to adjust class schedules based on actual circumstances, including teacher absences, holidays, etc.

  • Notification Method: Any class adjustments will be communicated through the website and other communication channels.

12.2 Cancellation Policy

  • Class Cancellation: If classes are canceled due to school reasons, makeup classes or refunds will be arranged.

  • Student Cancellation: If a student cancels a class, the school requires a 2-month notice; otherwise, 50% of the class fee will be charged as a cancellation fee.

13. Updates and Communication

13.1 Policy Updates

  • Update Procedure: The school will regularly review and update policies. Any changes will be communicated to parents and students through the website and other communication channels.

14. Image Rights

14.1 Use of Student Images

  • Permission: By enrolling at April Rain Dance Academy, parents/legal guardians grant the school permission to use photos, videos, and other media of the student for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the school website, social media, and marketing materials.

  • Opt-Out: If you do not wish for your child’s image to be used, please notify the school in writing at the time of registration.

 

15. Risk of Injury and Liability

15.1 Risk of Injury

  • Inherent Risks: Dance and acrobatics involve physical activities that carry inherent risks of injury. By enrolling in classes at April Rain Dance Academy, students and their parents/legal guardians acknowledge and accept these risks.

15.2 Liability Waiver

  • Liability: The school is not liable for any injuries sustained by students while participating in dance or acrobatics classes, performances, or other activities. Students participate at their own risk, and the school assumes no responsibility for accidents or injuries.

15.3 Medical Insurance

  • Insurance: It is the responsibility of students and their parents/legal guardians to ensure that they have adequate medical insurance coverage for any potential injuries that may occur during participation in classes or activities.

  • 程序:若需长期缺席,请与学校管理层讨论,并提供缺席原因和预计返回日期。学校将根据情况调整课程安排或提供替代方案。这种情况下请假也是只能按照上限3节课进行补课,并且在请假后2个月内完成,不接受提交多次请假表。

3.4 医疗缺席

  • 返回通知:在医疗情况恢复后,需通知学校以确保安全重新进入课程。如因重大疾病需长期请假,可与校方商讨后续解决方案。

3.5 特殊情况

  • 特殊情况:如遇家庭紧急情况、重要事件等特殊情况,请直接与学校沟通,以便灵活处理特殊缺席请求。

4. 私人课程

4.1 课程信息

  • 概述:私人课程(单独授课)旨在满足学生个性化的需求,提供量身定制的学习体验。这些课程可以集中于舞蹈技巧、编舞或体能训练。

  • 预约:学生或家长需联系学校办公室或指定的私人教师安排私人课程。提供有关课程内容、时间和特殊要求的详细信息。

4.2 费用

  • 费用结构:私人课程的费用根据教师经验、课程长度和内容而异。具体费用将在预约时提供。

  • 注册费:预约私人课程时需支付 $55 的注册费,注册费适用于仅预约私人课程的情况。此费用在预约时收取。

  • 付款:费用需提前每月支付。每月的费用需在该月的第一周内支付。

  • 付款方式:预约过程中确认付款细节。

4.3 承诺与取消

  • 承诺:学生必须承诺参加整学期的私人课程。这确保了课程的连续性,并允许教师进行有效的计划安排。

  • 取消政策:若要取消或重新安排私人课程,需提前至少 24 小时通知学校,否则将收取课程费用的 50% 作为取消费用。若提前至少 2 天书面通知取消或重新安排课程,不收取额外费用,且调补课程不收费。

4.4 原创编舞

  • 原创编舞费用:如果学生希望在私人课程中加入原创编舞,将另收编舞费用。该费用将根据编舞的复杂程度和长度确定。

  • 费用详情:具体编舞费用将在预约过程中讨论和确定,此费用在常规私人课程费用之外。

4.5 课程内容与目标

  • 定制内容:私人课程内容将根据学生的个性化需求和目标量身定制。家长和学生可以在课程开始前与教师讨论学习目标。

  • 进展跟踪:教师将定期向家长通报学生的进展和成就,以确保课程符合学生需求。

4.6 课程记录与反馈

  • 记录:每节私人课程将由教师记录,包括课程内容和学生进展。这些记录有助于规划未来的课程。

6. 健康与安全

  • 过敏信息:学生在注册时必须在表格上提供过敏原或其他健康状况的信息,以确保学校能够采取必要的预防措施。

6.2 紧急处理

  • 紧急联系人:提供有效的紧急联系人信息。

  • 医疗授权:家长/法定监护人授权学校工作人员在紧急情况下做出必要的医疗决定。

6.3 事故处理

  • 报告:任何事故或伤害需立即向教师和学校管理层报告。

  • 记录:学校将记录所有事故,并按照既定程序处理。

7. 个人物品

7.1 个人物品管理

  • 责任:学校对丢失或损坏的个人物品不负责。学生应确保物品安全,并避免携带贵重物品。

7.2 物品标记

  • 标记:所有个人物品应标记学生姓名,以便识别和取回。

8. 课程表现与演出

8.1 竞赛班

  • 要求:每年竞赛班需至少参加一次舞蹈比赛。具体比赛安排会提前通知家长和学生。

  • 报名费:参与比赛的报名费将由学校组织并收取,具体费用会在比赛前提前通知家长和学生。

8.2 普通班级

  • 演出:普通班级的学生每年需参加至少一次校内演出(recital)。演出是课程的一部分,除特殊情况外,所有学生需参与。

  • Recital 费用:每个班级的学生都需缴纳 recital 费用,即使学生因个人原因无法参与演出,recital 费用将不予退还。Fitness Training(体能训练)班级的学生不需要缴纳 recital 费用。

  • 除外课程:如 Flexibility(柔韧性训练)、Acrobatic(特技训练)、PBT(核心力量训练)等基础课程不包括在 recital 中。

 

9. 家长参与与志愿服务

9.1 志愿服务

  • 家长志愿者:每节课欢迎一位家长作为志愿者助手,协助组织和记录。家长需填写课堂志愿者申请表进行申请。

  • 班级家委会:有意成为班级家委会班长的家长需填写志愿表格。班级家委会负责协调家长参与、组织活动和沟通反馈。

9.2 志愿者表格

  • 班级家委会班长申请:有意担任班级家委会班长的家长需填写志愿表格,申请担任该职位。

  • 课堂志愿者申请表:希望参与课堂志愿服务的家长需填写课堂志愿者申请表,申请成为课堂助手。

10. 设施使用

10.1 设施规定

  • 使用规范:学生应遵守学校设施的使用规定,使用后保持清洁,并将物品归还原处。

  • 损坏赔偿:如学生或家长造成设施损坏,需承担相应的赔偿责任。

10.2 安全规定

  • 安全检查:学校将定期进行设施安全检查。学生在使用设施时应注意安全,避免事故发生。

11. 校外活动

11.1 安全保障

  • 陪同要求:所有校外活动需家长陪同,以确保学生的安全。未陪同的学生将无法参与校外活动。

  • 活动通知:校外活动安排会提前通知家长和学生,具体活动细节和费用会在活动前说明。

12. 课程调整与取消

12.1 调整政策

  • 课程调整:学校保留根据实际情况调整课程安排的权利,包括教师请假、节假日等情况。

  • 通知方式:任何课程调整将通过网站和其他沟通渠道通知家长和学生。

12.2 取消政策

  • 课程取消:如课程因学校原因取消,将安排补课或退款。

  • 学生取消:如学生取消课程,需提前 2 个月通知学校,否则将收取课程费用的 50% 作为取消费用。

14. 肖像权

14.1 使用学生肖像

  • 拒绝使用:如不希望使用您孩子的肖像,请在注册时书面通知学校。

 

15. 受伤风险与责任

15.1 受伤风险

  • 固有风险: 舞蹈和杂技涉及身体活动,存在固有的受伤风险。通过在April Rain Dance Academy注册课程,学生及其家长/法定监护人承认并接受这些风险。

15.2 责任免责声明

  • 责任: 学校对学生在参与舞蹈或杂技课程、表演或其他活动时所发生的任何伤害不承担责任。学生参加活动自担风险,学校不对事故或伤害负责。

15.3 医疗保险

  • 保险: 学生及其家长/法定监护人有责任确保其拥有足够的医疗保险,以覆盖参与课程或活动过程中可能发生的任何伤害。
